Hi all— I hope summer has been treating you well so far. I had promised a friend I would send out a list of books to read during the holiday break but my brain completely lacked appropriate energy supply to turn on; matter of fact, I barely even read this summer. I picked up one book, and it was only 50 pages long. I’ll resume reading serious stuff once I am back in action, something I am currently pushing back to mid-September.
Anyways, I thought it would be worth starting a thread where maybe you guys could all drop 1 or two titles you read this summer, with a short line about why you recommend it.
The tiny booklet I read was “Aphorisms on Love & Hate” by Friedrich Nietzsche. I recommend it because it’s a light hearted take on very heavy topics by a very deep philosopher.
Milk Fed by Melissa Broder is probably my favorite read of this summer. I could speak about books forever 🥲 but I’ll keep it short and sweet with just one book ❤️🩹
:) Iook! I have a little cute website of my own that’s currently under construction but I really recommend Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday cause it’s easy to take anywhere , can be read in brief breaks or a stretchy afternoon and gives you the confidence that you have it allllll in you already. ☀️
Klara and the Sun,
Novel by Kazuo Ishiguro
Heartwarming in unexpected ways. Centered around the humanity of AI
