That was moving to read, pictures are also beautiful. I grew up in a provincial/rural area in the north east of Italy so I guess it could be regarded as starkly different to Palermo. Still, All we did was play football all day everyday, 1 goalpost only, backpacks on the ground instead of goalposts, painting the goalposts on the wall with paint/chalk...you name it.

That love has stayed: when I'm with my friends, even though many of us have stopped playing competitively, whenever we have a ball we still play 2-touch, rondo, whatever...the beauty of football lies in its simplicity which also makes it relatable almost to all levels, I cannot help but stop and watch everytime I see kids playing.

Also shoutout to Zamparini's Palermo squads in the mid 2000-2010, he had some jewels over the years.

it's hilarious how some footballer haircuts stay embedded in the area's folklore, you can tell one of those kids in the pictures is a big lagumina fan.
